ABOUT ANGELINA NOVA

I was born in a small town Ashland, Oregon (US) and I have professionally been working in the beauty industry for 7+ years and doing makeup since I was 14 years old.  I have moved over 40 times in my life, but I spent most of my years in Oregon so that is my home. I have loads of other passions, hobbies, and creative outlets outside of work and the beauty industry. Working in the beauty industry and working in all my other passions at the same time, I try to balance them as much as I can. One of my biggest passions is music, which some of you actually might know me for as well. I used to create guitar covers and sing on youtube.  Music and instruments really helped me growing up and still does, music helped me mold myself into the person I am today. I simply would not be here if it wasn’t for music. Another one of my biggest passions is astronomy. I own two telescopes and I love research on any kind of astrophysics. It's the only thing I enjoy researching for hours on end. My passion for science and beauty really came together to create my makeup line.

After I had left my first real beauty job at Sephora,  I knew I wanted to create a cosmetic line when I was 18. I had gotten my hands on some sample pigments and had this idea to create an organic holographic eyeshadow palette. So I did tons of research on how to safely and correctly produce and make organic eyeshadow. Then I thought to myself "well if I'm learning how to make one product and formula, why not learn how to make several?" which then resulted in me taking 5+ years to launch a full brand because, go big or go home, right?

I grew up learning how to make organic products from my amazing mother who makes all kinds of awesome lotions in our kitchen. I really wanted to make fun makeup that was actually healthy for your skin and not filled with terrible toxic and skin damaging ingredients. It is more expensive to do but worth every penny. The beauty industry is growing into a money hungry place that is all about outer beauty and I think majority of these brands you see today have totally forgotten to promote inner beauty. Makeup is an art form and there are no rules.  Spiritually and mental health is extremely important to me and I wanted to find a way to build a beauty brand around that. 

Mainly, I want to inspire others and all of my friends that you can do anything you put your mind to. I want to remind people that you can do absolutely anything in this world. You just have to find out what it is you want to do, take real time away from social media, people, and just be with yourself. Then, if you find out what it is that you want to do, and if you're passionate about it, then take the steps to make it a reality. I am on the road to creating my own empire, even if it's not the most popular thing, it feeds my soul and that is all that matters.

I had started an Etsy shop when I was 14 because I loved to draw black and white space art. I had no idea what I was doing when I started my first Etsy shop but I kept going at it for 6-7 years and expanded by selling candles etc. So, look at how things have evolved now, I'm here writing and creating my own beauty brand and now working along side so many amazing artist and talented people.

This world can be very cruel, and finding things that feed your soul is so important. It's something you'll take with you to the end of life. I guess this is my mark I am trying to leave on this planet and I want to share all the knowledge I have learned along the way so far. I truly believe that creating art with yourself and with others and expanding your reality, is so important and crucial for us and the world. I hope you guys will join me on my adventure.
